Hi Mark, We use leaves on the gardens. We pile them up in the fall and by the
next fall they’re nice, black dirt-looking stuff. Oak leaves are a little acid, I think, so
we put them on the potato patch. You can dump leaves on the garden in the
fall, run the mower over them and till them in. If we just leave the leaves on the
surface, the wind blows them away.
Burning leaves is a terrible waste of nutrients brought up from deep in
the ground and stored in them. Marie in |
