There is a difference between globalization and corporate globalization. We
are currently in a world where the latter is what predominates.

It creates low paying, low quality jobs. It breaks down environmental
protections that were democratically agreed upon. Check out Chapter 11 of
NAFTA - and if you are interested, I will cite you some specific examples of
how this has happened.

It breaks down local and community economic systems.

It challenges local control and democracy.

It consolidates money to the already wealthy.

There are benefits, yes - but the way that globalization is happening could
be much improved upon. What you cite below, mn, is the myths that those who
promote it pass on. And, they try to cast those of us who are against
corporate globalization as people who are against progress, people who are
against the inevitable, people who are against trade. None of these boxes
are accurate. Instead, we are people who want those who are affected by the
trade agreements to have input into them, and who want trade agreements to
be made with some basic rights and standards as a part of them, rather than
made to tear down basic rights and standards.

I think globalization is a great thing.

It creates a lot of jobs.

It breaks down artificial barriers that cause war and famine and class
abuse.

It spreads the money and knowledge around.

It challenges primitive social abuse paradigms.

It's good stuff.
