At the same conference, radiant heaters with a propane tank were presented as good way to provide supplemental heat. But I didn't think about asking for sources. Maybe local farm supply?

You might investigate whether or not propane heaters
are available for the same task.

Regards to the list:

I asked the same question at the Great Plains Vegetable Conference: Can
I use a kerosene heater in the hoop house?

The answer was no. The fumes are bad for the plants. After that
particular session was over, a fellow came up to me and told me he used
a kerosene heater all the time in his hoop house. He says you have to
make sure it is well-vented. I think I'm going to try it.
