You did not say how small a house you want to heat. When I started
out I had three 14x48' double plastic houses heated with 55 gallon barrel
wood stoves they worked well but needed all night filling.
I switched to K1 20000 btu heaters each house needed two heaters actually
three per house would have been just right. Hauling K1 and spilling
it on myself and the soil is a loosing proposition.
I never had a problem with pollution damaging plants because hoop houses are drafty. Today I have large greenhouses that can only be heated with proper commercial greenhouse heaters and I can sleep easier at night. I still have one heated hoop house a 14x130 that is heated with a 200000 btu Sunderman oil furnace, I use this house just in the spring for cool season plants. If you have just a small house of 100-300 sq. feet you should have no
problem heating with K1. always remember to clean the wick with the heater
outdoors... Bob.

Do the fumes cause problems. The other source I wondered about was chicken brooding bulbs. I love the idea for using an incubator for germinating seed. I have a big,600 egg sears model I use for eggs but will also use for plants this year.God Bless, |
