Yes, your responses are very predictable.

I would not say it is only the fault of the people doing it. It is also the
fault of everyone, including owners who looked the other way because things
appeared to good to be true. And as people found out ... it was too good to
be true.

We will just have to agree to disagree on this. The "system" is pretty good.
There is no other that is better in human history. Is it perfect? You know
it isn't. Nothing is and nothing ever can be. What usually happens, and is
and has happened is that more regulations are passed which further restrict
certain practices to try and improve things. And more importantly, it is a
lesson for everyone from investor to the corporate offices. And for a few
decades, we might see some improvement with what is considered acceptable
practices.

But, over the years, people get complacent and even though they know some
things are really not right, they figure that "everyone else is doing it,"
and you go through another cycle.
