Conjugated Linoleic Acid which is type of fatty acid present in substantial
quantities in the meat of ruminants and milk. It has been proven to be quite
effective in reducing cancer and heart disease in rat studies. Humans
studies have been mostly along similar results although like most studies,
not 100% supportive. So we can not yet take the position that CLA is proven
to reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer in humans. Also, it has
another benefit which some types (there are a number of different isomers)
of CLA seem to help in normalizing weight. If you are too heavy or light, it
may be able to help change the weight.

As some of you folks probably already know, some health food marketers have
been selling pills of CLA for people to take.
