Don't worry about how it's done in your area--do it like it works for
you. My
first time at our farmer's market, I didn't have a scale. The market
manager drove
me crazy continually walking by my booth trying to find something
wrong. Finally, after 4 hours and his 5th walk by, he discovered I
didn't have a
scale. He smugly pointed this out, but had neglected to read my price
signs. He arrived the next market day sans his scale & selling by the
piece!!
Also, I worked in my area schools developing a gardening/healthy
eating program. As per several requests, I'm now writing up this
curriculum and would be glad to send it to if you're interested.
