To those concerned about the volume of e-mail there's a simple solution.
Switch your subscription to "digest" form. That way you will get ONE
e-mail a day. It will be long, but with this format it's a breeze to skip
over entire messages that are of no interest. Only one e-mail to
open/delete and only one reply if you save your replies on a composer. To
switch to digest form:
Send e-mail to: lyris AT franklin.oit.unc.edu
In the subject line write: set market-farming digest
On those days that you have the time to be more interactive with the list
you can check in periodically through the web site to see the messages
before you receive the digest.
