The only time I have ever seen the issue of being automatically redirected
back to the login page
upon submitting a login request is when the cookie failed to be set. The
cause of this always
seems to be related to what you have MAINDOMAIN set to be. If you have it set
to 'localhost' then
it will almost surely cause this problem. Basically, the MAINDOMAIN has to
contain at least one or
two periods for cookies to set correctly (has to do with the cookie spec).
Otherwise, I would
guess it to be a mod_rewrite problem but I doubt it. So if you have
MAINDOMAIN set to 'localhost'
then try '127.0.0.1' or some other equivalent domain instead. Hope this helps.
