Seriously, I was thinking of the jujubes as a thorny living fence to keep the deer out, so they could have the fruit on one side, and I'd take the other. Of course, if they're eating the bark and not the fruit, the trees might never get big enough to be a good fence.
Thanks for the tip--we'll see how it goes. I can always move them away from the rest of the garden if they turn out to be a problem there.
