Yes, this is true that they don't set fruit at that temperature....but the night temperatures also make a difference with tomatoes.
But....using the shade of the trees the temperature is up to 15*F cooler .....and so the tomatoes still set fruit. I have managed to get other Texas folks to try my methods.....and they report success for the first time ever to get them through that time period in particular.
