Thank goodness I have rarely seen a snake and never a rat . In the winter I
keep poison in the barn for the little varmits. We are supposed to have
rattlers too, but I have only seen one or two black snakes which I
dispatached quickly. They get in the chicken house and will eat baby chicks
and eggs too.
