folks have to dial an extension to get me. it is my telephone firewall/autoattendant thingie. then, they have to listen to me playing guitar and singing on my music on hold. telemarketers smart enough or patient enough to get through generally may do so.

i've had a real increase in the number of medical supply houses that must have found out i need a replacement head mounted drool cup and monthly supply of thorazine :-)

There's a bunch of statistics that are tracked to judge the state of the economy, but my own measure is the number of cold calls I get.  As business to business sales volumes drop, the sales teams are left with little to do, and so the number of cold calls goes up dramatically.

My phone's been ringing off the hook lately with you name it--  marketing consultants, offshore development teams, equipment rentals, etc.

How about yours?
