A few things. AFAIK, the free version of vmware (which I assume
you're talking about) doesn't do 3D hardware acceleration. It's
awesome for many things, but gaming isn't one of them. Secondly, wine
is running WoW like butter. The link John provided walks you through
setting it up easily.
