Do you like dogs?
Triangle Greyhound Society (TGS) is a volunteer, non-profit
organization dedicated to the welfare of retired racing greyhounds.
* We educate the public on the advantages of greyhounds as pets.
* We provide information about greyhound adoption.
* We provide assistance to new greyhound families.
* We rescue homeless or abandoned greyhounds.
* We provide homes for greyhounds needing a different living
situation.
* We provide funds to help cover costs associated with greyhound
rescue, including urgent medical care.
* We consider other activities that could improve retired
greyhounds' lives.
Triangle Greyhound Society is looking for volunteers to help us in
the following areas:
Media Coordinator - we are in need of someone who is computer savvy to
get the word out about our events.
This means community calendars online, in print, and on air (radio and
tv).
We need someone to handle faxing and emailing press releases and
announcements

Foster parents - do you like dogs? We are always in need of loving
foster homes for the dogs that are surrendered into our care

Point person/liason - we are looking for someone to help us coordinate
with Greyhound Adoption groups and program in North Carolina

Recent activites of Triangle Greyhound Society include:

Greyhound Planet Day (September 19, 2004) at Lake Crabtree park. Over
125 retired racing greyhounds and their owners attended this
international day of awareness for retired racing greyhounds
throughout the US, Spain, Ireland, and the Far East. We raised $665
for the GPAGO (Greyhound Pets of America Greater Orlando) who lost
their kennel due to Hurricane Charley and Frances. For pictures see:

Triangle Greyhound Society annually hosts the Greyhounds in Gettysburg
Gathering. For 2005, we expect over 1000 greyhounds and their owners
to participate in this event. If you like history and greyhounds, we
can use volunteers here as well.

Triangle Greyhound Society is a 501c3 non-profit group, we are
racing-neutral (that means we are neither pro- or anti-racing)
