"It’s a new network system proposed by Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the
World Wide Web a decade ago. The World Wide Web—not to be confused with
the Internet—is essentially an addressing system, a means of navigating
the maze of sites that make up the Internet. Berners-Lee now wants to make
the Web smarter—indeed, smart enough to handle semantics, or linguistic
meanings, more the way humans do."
