Hey ZMan,

I get the impression you think you are arguing with me when you are actually repeating my point. I said, in part --

"In an expanding economy ... candidates with experience are viewed with suspicion..."
but
"In a contracting economy ... companies know that the really the topnotch people are out there ..."

We are currently in a contracting economy with, as you said, "companies going belly up" and "whole teams let go". This results in "plenty of well qualified and experienced techies out there," many of whom have specific healthcare experience which makes their resumes more attractive for jobs in that industry than is Mr. Brunk's resume (or mine.)

How about the company went belly up, or they let the whole team go. There
are plenty of well qualified and experienced techies out there that are
out of work because of mis-management at the top. The company I worked for
last let everyone in the Raleigh office go because they thought the team
in New Orleans could handle everything. Of course they started calling
some of us back the next week, but no one wanted to relocate to south
carolina...
