Hell INW geniuses,

Thanks for the advice on dealing with all my
spyware and pop up ads. In my ongoing quest to
regain control over my PC, I have a file in my
temp folder called "bvcssek" any attempt to
delete, rename or open it in with any application
(mainly WordPad) doesn't work. I usually get this
message.

"Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full
or write protected and the file is not in use by
another application."

The write protection is turned off. A search
online yields no information.

Can someone lead me to a resource to discover
what this file is and how can I remove it? I think
it may be the source of the remaining pop ups and
hijacking I am experiencing. It may be an ms-dos
command.

PS, I've installed Spybot and love it. It found
166 items related to spyware and removed them.
I'd appreciate any information.

Thanks
Steve

thanks for the quick tip, Steve! and Ian - even if you cannot drink,
if you like any type of seafood (and can stand the wait!) then you will
like 42nd St Oyster Bar. i have found their dishes to be anywhere from
very good to spectacular.

unfortunately, i cannot make it to the beer and seafood event tomorrow
nite. i hope those that do venture out have a good time!

It is time to get a new stove. I currently have an electric stove, but am
considering switching to gas. I have gas going to the house for the heating
system. How much work do you think it would be to have a gas connection run
to my kitchen? My house has a crawl space, where I guess the line would run.

Does anyone have an idea of how much this would cost? Anyone have a
recommended company to do this sort of work?

Thanks,
David

That flexible yellow TracPipe makes child's play out of running gas
lines. The gas company will do the job for you, though. Give 'em a
call.

I think they will do it for free if you buy the stove from them. Otherwise
it's around $100 for the run. They ran a line for my gas grill and it was
$150. It was slightly more because it was a 40 foot run with all metal
pipe, an anchor point, ground, and cut off valve.

Wow, if it is that inexpensive to run gas, why was I considering an electric
stove? Silly me.

Because gas is expensive? Price of natural gas has trippled in the last
year and Gas stoves cost more than electric.
Electric stoves don't have a problem blowing up...

Those are the only reasons I can think of...get one. Oh and get an oven
that can be conventional or convection...you'll love it.

We were looking at mid-range ranges, so the gas (convection) ranges are
about the same cost as the electrics (flat-top with convection) at about
$1,600.

This gas KitchenAid looks interesting:

http://www.kitchenaid.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=434291&p
rmenbr=136&catname=Ranges&sku=KGSC308LSS

Or this electric:

http://www.kitchenaid.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=434240&p
rmenbr=136&catname=Ranges&sku=KESC308LSS

There are also some Jenn-Air ranges we looked at, but they were about $300
more.

I had not considered the cost of gas to run the range.
