Why does this remind me of all the tv commercials with smiling multiracial
groups of friends hanging out not noticing that they don't match? The real
world isn't really quite like that (ever spent time in North Raleigh?), but
people see the commercials and feel that all is well with race relations in
the US... So why be bothered by it? That's what a well-placed political
appointment can do for us.
