Also inspired by this discussion, does anybody want to join me for a
lunch trip to Medi Deli on Wednesday next week? If interested, please
email me privately and we'll arrange it from there.

Triangle?
Inspired by the discussion, I just went to Mediterranean Deli. Salad
sampler with fatush,
chickpea salad, Lebanese grape leaves, and tabouli. Pistachio mamoul for
later.
Mariakakis was once a great place for cheap good-greasy food, now is
just a mediocre
sandwich shop. Unfortunately, Mr. Dunderbak is it in the German
category. And I get
serious cravings for roasted pork knuckle...
But here are my faves:
Pizza - Schiano's in Pleasant Valley shopping center in Raleigh. Don't
ask for brocolli on
your pizza here - this is pure NY style, with a light crispy crust, and
no sugar in the sauce
(which should be illegal, to go back to another recent discussion). I
know everyone raves
about Pepper's, but I just don't like it.
Tacos - Burrito Bunker in CH or Carrburritos.
Southern - Mama Dip's or K&W cafeteria (really excellent - you should
try it!).
Breakfast - Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe in CH (Big Jim's hashbrowns extra
crispy)
Elaine's for fancy-ish fusion food
Magnolia Grill for fancyish southern-ish food
Waraji in Raleigh for sushi, etc. I also like the veggie nigiri at Sushi
Blues.
All of the Indian restaurants are terrible.
Why am I hungry? I just ate lunch...
