I always ask what percentage goes to the charity. The Law Enforcement
Officers' Widows and Orphans Fund (or whatever it is called, I'm sure I am
not the only person they are calling around here) gets 15% of the money
collected in their name. I guess the telemarketers are legally obligated to
provide that info, because I sure as hell wouldn't if I was in their
business. Needless to say, I have not made a donation through the
telemarketers.
