Sorry, <yoda>can agree no</yoda>.
I pay for my telephone and these people have no "right" to use it to sell
their swill. Let them reimburse us for the use of the communications device
which for which we pay, not to mention our time. Telemarketers should not
have the "right" to use other people's equipment and time for their purposes
without compensation.
Tell the telemarketers to go get a real job to support their families. I
don't believe they are permanently attached to their headsets. At the least,
telemarketers should be able to provide me with their source of my phone
number. Who sold them my number or how did they get it? I want to take it
out on those people at the bank or whomever sold them the list.
BTW, I did stop answering my phone a number of years ago due to harassment
from telemarketers. I would get 10-15 messages a night. Also, my phone was
one digit different than the federal job number so all kinds of people left
interesting messages about their job searches (this was over and above the
telemarketing calls.) I had to start answering my phone after a few years
when I was involved with a certain woman. She didn't take kindly to getting
an irritating message on my machine on the evils of telemarketing.
Roger (in RTP starting to get real pissy, but it will pass quickly.)

> These are people who have obligations and families and rent to pay.

> When treated with civility, they tend to treat you nicely as well.
