First, I'd research and see what others are getting and how their qualifications measure up to your's.
Then I'd decide what it would take to drag me kicking and screaming off my little corner of the world.
My ideal would be 4/10s with alternating weekends (Monday-Thursday one week; Tuesday-Friday the next week. Then you have alternating 4 day weekends). Now, my selling point/argument on this would be that it has been shown that people that have alternating 4 day weekends use less sicktime as they have the weekdays off to take care of doctor appointments, DMV, etc. AND, it has been shown that people that have long weekends are happier campers and less likely to be ill! Plus, "happy campers" are less likely to get hurt on the job.
If it was a company that was running 2 or 3 shifts, then I'd ask to add in flex-time. If others got a gas allowance, then I'd add that in. particularly if I had a long commute.
Don't think I'd ask for a phone unless it was really needed for the job. That would make it easier to for them call me on my time. Nope, no thanks.
Laptop. Depends on how you could justify it.

We all know the economy sucks right now and jobs are few and far
between. I have a hypothetical question for you...
Knowing that many companies are cash strapped, if a company is
interested in negotiation with you for a job, what kind of perks would
you ask for? Car, phone, 3 weeks vacation, flex time, gas allowance,
laptop??? Negotiation is an art, and I usually end up with less
'benefits' than my co-workers because I did not cut a good deal, or when
I do cut a deal, the employer backs out after I'm hired.
Like Lynn, I've only been half looking for a job. I enjoy being a full
time homesteader, but Skyguy would prefer that I work. I've been
thinking about what I would ask for. Do you think it is prudent to try
to make any kind of bargain with the economy so tough and jobs so
scarce? Unemployment is very high here, and if someone were to call, do
I just accept a job with no bargaining just to have one, even though I
really would prefer to stay home, is that stupid? Where is the fine line?
