Some years back I subscribed to a local service, aeneas.net and have
had all my message attempts blocked. That is still the service but
my son told me to use outlook. This was my first attempt.

That seems to be happening to too many people these days. I wonder why
ISP's can't recognize that an email list is not spam.

A year ago January, I had an accident which left me with a broken
knee cap and a spiral fracture of my left arm. Lots of rehab time.
In November had another fall with damage to the right shoulder, so
family insisted that I live in Nashville where they could watch out
for me. Fell on the stairs in Nashville, damaging my shoulder again.
Had an operation to repair the rotary cuff a bit over 6 weeks ago and
have been in a sling which keeps the arm out about 6 inches from the
body and makes even the simplest task overwhelming.

And today, when the orthopedic surgeon asked how I was doing and I
told him I was ready to burn the contraption, he invited me to do so.

You and Susan Jane need to talk and compare stories! She's also
recuperating from a lot of surgery-knee replacement and such. Wow, I
can't even imagine the pain you must have had with all of that. I am
glad you are a free woman again as I totally understand the feeling of
having to rely on someone else for simple things like hair washing. My
rotator cuff injury crops up from time to time. That's what you get
when a ram charges you and you extend your left arm to try and stop
him.<G> Lately, my right shoulder has also been hurting a bit, but I
can still raise my arm, so it is not bad. I have no clue as to what I
did to it.

And today, I saw your mention of me. How nice to be remembered.

Donna, Middle Tennessee, but determined to get back to West
Tennessee.

There have been a lot of folks that have just dropped away over the
years. The archives only go back so far, and my memory is not getting
any better.
In my mind, the one thing that sets this list apart from other homestead
lists is that it is less about teaching and more for those of us with
the mindset to discuss our lives and how life impacts what we want to
do. It is still about homesteading, just with the emphasis that it is a
community for homesteaders. It truly is a community. Knowing that
people I care about are here makes me want to stay here. Without ties,
we move on.

Life does throw curves and we have to figure out how to continue to do
what we love to do. I'm really glad to know that you are okay and
itching to get back to your farm, and if you don't get back soon, the
Bermuda grass will indeed cover it up!

debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered
and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed
lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of
living on public assistance."
