And that would be the "rest of the story," so to speak. They feed chickens AND inject eggs (that are going to become chickens, not the ones that head for the grocery shelves) with gentamycin. So we now have a whole new strain of SE that it gentamycin resistant. Which inturn gives us a another super bug.

Plus, with all the dirt I've eaten and animals I've handled, I probably have
a pretty healthy immune system. There have been times when I've fairly
wallowed in animals' various bodily fluids. There's no obsession with
cleanliness or antibacterial cleaners here.
