I see that they haven't come up with a cause yet.

Pure speculation: a bubble of natural gas worked its way through the karst acquifer, got into her well, the pump sparked and away it blew. The puzzle is the oxygen source. Hm, h2O. Nah, the gas would have risen through her well water to the air space above. Bingo and boom. Nah, the spark would be under water. How to make the connection? Low water table? The timing of gas and oxygen being in immediate proximity is the issue.

You will of course keep us updated on what "they" determine.
