I've always thought of gold as simply an unusable, undependable investment with no dividends but really good shelf life.

I like land, seeds, tools, ammunition, spare parts for water, electrical and plumbing systems, building materials, hardware, clothes, kitchen and bath necessities, books and music..

This coming year might also be a good time to fill up large propane and diesel tanks.
