Actually; presently 236 democrats to 203 republicans in the House and 49 each
in the Senate, with two "independents" (Lieberman, who, except for Iraq,
always votes with Democats, caucauses with em them and is allowed by them a
committee chairmanship. And; Bernie Sanders (Socialist) who always votes with
the democrats, and caucauses with them.

In both caes, democrats have more than the simple majority that is needed to
pass a bill.
