Rob,

It's a crappy spot to be in, but as a pet owner it happens sooner or later.
Your dog has been cared for and loved and knows this, whatever your decision
make sure you are at peace with it.

We used to agonize over the occasional sick chicken back when we had
poultry. Only one of a handful of sick ones over several years pulled
through, the others died in their own time after we spent a few days trying
to muster the nerve to wring their neck or lop off their head, all while
trying to 'doctor' them.

On our farm is an animal graveyard on the far side of the barn, in it we've
buried one dog, one cat and many chickens.

Thinking of you...

Lisa
