"Land that was purchased with expanding metro areas in mind has already been
hard hit in value," says [Deutsche Bank analyst Nishu Sood]. "Sustained
higher gas prices could render it effectively worthless."

http://calculatedrisk.blogspot.com/2008/06/more-on-decline-of-exurban-lifestyle.html

"As I noted before, any lifestyle dependent on low gas prices - and low gas
mileage vehicles - is becoming uneconomical. For those that own a home in a
remote location, work in construction, and drive a low gas mileage vehicle,
this must feel like a depression."

I got a seemingly good suggestion this morning at the coffee table on how to
keep deer and coyotes out of my garden. I was told to buy large foil helium
balloons and tie them to the fence posts. Place them a few feet higher that
the post in several locations. The breeze will move them and the foil will
reflect any light from the sky.
Sound like this may work..... Just passing this message along ..... Another
example of a "Country boy can survive".... J Reb
