Whaa?? Missoui was part of the Louisiana purchase in which the French sold
their holdings to the US, which they had in turn acquired from Spain.... just
how much more French and Spanish influence do you want? Fact is, French and
Spanish were in common usage all along the areas bordering the Mississippi,
the
farther south the more the influence.

Van Dell, how much influence do you suppose the French and Spanish had here
in the remote craigs of hollows of Tennessee, and yet that was the common
useage here.
