Your corn numbers are out of date. Even mine are out of date but closer to current (2006) with 25% of the corn going to ethanol. I don't have 2007 numbers but they were expected to be higher.
And ethanol is a total waste when it is made from corn. Corn ethenol is an extremely low BTU which is why MPGs are reduced when ethanol is added to fossil fuel and reduced even more with the higher the % of ethanol to fossil.
Of course, using something like switch grass which would produce a much higher BTU and thus better MPGs won't happen because that would feed the pockets of politicians OR big agri-business or any of the others sucking off the government subsidy trough.

In fact the ethanol/corn debate is skewed on the impact of ethanol on corn
supplies
In the United States, 57 percent of the corn crop is fed to animals. The
livestock industry is the corn producers' leading customer. In 2003, beef
cattle were fed more than 1.4 billion bushels of corn, while hogs consumed
1.1 billion bushels and poultry another 1.3 billion bushels.
Eleven percent of U.S. corn production goes into ethanol, while another 19
percent or 1.9 billion bushels is exported. The balance of the crop is used
for food, seed and industrial uses.
