Read that too hasitly. I've no idea what the 'egg beater' drill is called.
The Brace and Bit is that U-shaped drill. </HTML>

http://www.antique-used-tools.com/gp.htm hand drill, egg-beater drill, I used to call it a hurdy-gurdy and these come in different sizes.
http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=17459&cookietest=1 this is a screwdriver drill, push drill (this what you meant James?), yankee drill (?) and other names too. Anyone see the movie 'The Blues Brothers" & remember where Jake opened the elevator control box? He used one of these for that <g>.
