Forgot to add that the 1 micron size filter should take out most
coliform bacteria, but like with the other stuff, a lot can depend on
other factors, including how effective the installation of the filter
was, or how soon you took the sample after installation. Many
filtration systems need time to set up colonies of good bacteria to help
break down the bad bacteria. If the coliform counts are low, then it
might be something simple. You might also consider re-testing with a
different lab, or re-testing at a different time of year. You might
also consider adding an additional device either before or after the
filter you have. It doesn't have to be complex-something like high
grade Diatomaceous Earth..
