I agree, so far as it goes. I have many neighbors (and extended family)
here, but they are considered as part of the "family," not as potential
enemies.

Good neighbors anywhere are as gold, but bad ones are worse than poison,
especially in the kind of extreme situation that I see as possible, where
normal social restraints would not exist, and bad people might turn to
violence quicker even than they do today.

I'm not the kind of survivalist that wants to fight people off. I don't
like violence, and I'm no good at it either.

I'm also not trying to convince anyone else to think, or to live, like
me. :-). It's very clear to me that those who expect a different sort of
future than I expect would not only make different choices, but would be
hard-pressed to understand mine. Like I said earlier, I'm not even sure
why I'm talking about this, but rest assured it's not to change your mind
about what I think may happen.
