Lynda,

The word Christmas derives from, "Christ's Mass", ......duh!! Sort of a
Christian thingy??

The season was melded with the "pagan" winter-rituals, for the sake of
enlightening the ignorant to the true meaning of the "seasons" as God had
first created them to be.

That's a nice story, Paul, but is simply that a nice story. Fact is, we
have the Romans and Northern Europeans to thank for the whole gift giving
thing and it had nothing to do with Jesus.
