Thanks, Don, right idea, but different project,
different shape - the ones I mean are heavy/
thick/really strong/rigid ...

There is a section in Home Depot with a huge selection of those things. There are all sorts of shapes and sizes for just about every standard lumber size and joint possibility. The ones I used were chosen for this application but there are many others.

I originally picked the ones I used up to use as spacers for flush mount cabinet doors.
