Another question. Would it be possible to "connect" two or more of them? Side by side, over/under, lengthwise, or combinations of these?

tvoivozhd---yes, there is no structural reason to forbid any combination, other than convenience of use. Connection between containers set side-by-side, or at some angle to tach other, is generally by a separately-constructed and attached, short and well-sealed passageway.
