Ok - this does boil down to one packet. The only info used exactly was seed
starting temperature, peat moss - that's it. The rest of it was my info as
in the example I posted earlier. Example #1 was his info - Example #2 was
mine.

I sent the info in - 21,000 total words. Said editor looked at the website I
quoted - complete with URL - sent my articles to the website owner for
verification that the seed germination instructions were his. He is now
writing a book for said company on the exact same material.

I received a letter stating my article was his - yea, right - and that he
had viewed my article. I guess I must have ESP or something since he claims
my unpublished article as his and his book isn't out yet nor is said info on
his website in my words. We both do have basic germination instructions but
the wording is not at all similar.

I called the editor (a new one, not the one I dealt with in the past) who
informed me all of my work would be trashed and I would not be paid.

I am more than a bit upset. I was given three weeks for this project. I
think what she did was very unethical. I feel like stating where the info
came from as well as adding my own two cents was certainly credit enough and
did indeed make it original work.

What do the rest of you think? Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed
or stop this from happening again?

Thanks,
Sheri
