Lorraine,

You are not dreaming.  Knock Out™ is, indeed, a dream come true!  This shrub rose from Star Roses begs to be neglected. According to breeder Bill Radler, deadheading is not recommended – as a matter of fact, it is discouraged.  If you want it to keep its shape, prune it when the forsythia bloom, otherwise, leave it alone. Knock Out™ is great for mass plantings, mixed with other shrubs and perennials or planted in containers.  Visit www.theknockoutrose.com to see all the members of the Knock Out™ family.  Contact me off line if anyone wants images.

Subject: [gwl-g] Knock Out Rose Question

Hi, Everyone!

I seem to remember a comment buried in one of last year's discussions on another subject about the deadheading of Knock Out roses.  My spotty memory recalls that one of the growers/breeders recommended no deadheading as it restricts successive blooming.  Am I dreaming or it that in fact the recommended approach to handling this plant?

Thanks and regards,

Lorraine
