I started with Burpee in 1950 and stayed there until 1986 when I left to work at Bodger.
Yes, David Burpee was something else and I could write a book about him. He certainly didn't fit the mold, but he was a real genius when it came to marketing, and to knowing what the market could want.
When he sold the company to General Foods, he couldn't quite believe he was no longer the boss. I have dozens of stories about him.
