Well, there might be a way, but I don't think you would say "configure"
so much as "rewrite"... :)
The named pipe interface is quite hefty, and not something to be
attempted lightly. Indeed, last I checked, one of Microsoft's standard
troubleshooting recommendations was that you NOT use the named pipes
library, since the TCP/IP library is apparently much more stable.
What version of SQL Server are you running? I don't think I've ever seen
a version that was set up for named pipes only..
