HI

We wanted to use it, but we found that it still does not implement a
lot of methods, like getrow, etc.

A post by my colleague, as to when they would be implemented, got no
response.

thanks
Pramod

Hi,

I am new to the list but I have been using the jdbc driver in developing a
solution for a client. I have found it to be very stable and I commend the
author(s) highly for a job very well done.

I am interested to find out how many other people are actually using the
jdbc driver (especially in production) and if it is still under active
development.

Recently I found a problem that I fixed (at least for my purposes) and I
submitted the changes to freetds-jdbc-bugs AT internetcds.com, but with no
reply and it seems no new version is available (since jan this year).

For those that may find it usefull, the details I
submitted are as follows:

///////////////////////////
I found that in some circumstances, exceptions are not being thrown when a
bad update is executed, for example when a field value is too long.

I tracked it down to the getMoreResults() method in Statement.java.

At line 619 in Statement.java we have:

exception = warningChain.addOrReturn(tmp);

The problem seems to be that if you get a warning as well as an error,
the addOrReturn sets the exception value to null and subsequently the
exception isnt thrown.

I changed it to the following:

SQLException e = warningChain.addOrReturn(tmp);
if(e != null)
exception = e;

It now seems to work OK.
