Creates the file, but doesn't write anything to it during login.
The file size is zero.

AltaVista Tunnel 98, actually. A TCP based tunnel on Digital UNIX.
Nothing else fails, of course. ;-)

Yes, I did. Then did a make, make install, and re-linked php.

I'm asking someone else at work to set up a server so that I can see if
it is logging anything useful about the disconnection reason.
