If you are going after a SQL 7.0 database you need to be using at least
0.46 (and preferably one of the recent snapshots as there have been alot
of bug fixes this past week). 0.45 had some bugs that SQL Server 7
tickled. (I should really put this in the FAQ...)

Possibility #2 would be that you are configured to use TDS 5.0 which will
not work on Microsoft servers. Make sure to 'configure --with-tdsver=4.2'

If that isn't the problem see if you can compile and run SQSH 1.7 and post
back. (There are some instructions in the freetds FAQ on compiling it with
freetds)
