Dear Joel,
It’s that time of year when young (ha!) scholars look for jobs.
I was wondering if you could write some letters of recommenda.
for me to three of the schools listing openings?
I’m especially interested in the first one, which
has a public outreach program on Religion
and civilization. (I am currently teaching World Civ
at two NJ institutions)
Dr. Stuart Glennan
Department of Philosophy & Religion
BUTLER University
4600 Sunset Avenue,
Indianapolis, IN 46208
Ms. Peggy Fender
Mars Hill College
Box 6662,
Mars Hill, NC 28754.
Dr. Ellen T. Armour, Chair,
Department of Religious Studies
Rhodes College,
2000 N. Parkway, Memphis TN 38112-1690.
I would be deeply grateful. Thank you very much.
I am still at Durham, have handed in a “penultimate”
thesis draft, and am awaiting response, but I am
back living in NJ again. I don't think I can ever
live in PC-land again.
Thanks,
Stephen Finlan
PS: I decided not to send in the second application
to Asbury, since I do not fit all the requirements.
