Larry,
I would suggest two secondary sources:
Tom Yoder Neufeld traces "stages of development" for Ephesians 6 through
Isaiah 59, Wisdom of Solomon 5 and 1 Thessalonians 5 in his monograph, _Put
on the Armour of God: The Divine Warrior from Isaiah to Ephesians_, JSSNTSS
140 (Sheffield: Sheffield Academic Press, 1997).
Andrew Lincoln (who sometimes contributes here) views Ephesians 6:10-20
from the perspective of "a particular type of ancient rhetoric, names
speeches of generals before battle" and provides some interesting ancient
sources. You may find his article helpful though it may not address
precisely the question you raise: "'Stand, Therefore . . .': Ephesians
6:10-20 as _Peroratio_." _Biblical Interpretation_ 3 (1995): 99-114.
