Good to see that Grayson is reading this and taking time to respond.
Appreciated!

>If you disagree with our opinion on a band, do tell!

What if other Indy writers disagree? One of my issues, in general, is
that this is just one person's opinion, and likely offered to the
writer with the greatest enthusiasm (ie; that writer hates them more
than the other likes them!)

As some of you might remember (and I'm sure Grayson does) - there was
a Indy preview of the French Kicks a couple years ago that basically
told people to leave Local 506 before the band played. Then last
year, the band comes back and the Indy gives them a positive preview.
Such inconsistency is more confusing to me than the fact that most
things you write are positive.

>Martin says silence is golden, but Glenn says it is an affront if every show

his club isn't written about (that's fairly hard to do, but every show
is listed!).

I just want to make it clear that
a) I am happy with the coverage our shows get, in general and,
b) I do not expect every single show to be written up.

Sometimes I am surprised by which shows get overlooked and do notice
(ie; these shows got "dissed" as in 'dismissed.') Not sure I'd
consider that an 'affront' which makes it sound personal. I never
take this stuff personally. And as you know, and everyone else
should, I never ask the Indy to write about our shows - I leave that
to the publicists and/or bands.

>I feel if you have critics writing about what they love,
they should be able to mention their objections to bands that they
don't love, too.

What is this? "Rock, Rot and Rule!" Isn't there a middle ground where
you could offer a critique of something you like. For example, I dig
the Polyphonic Spree, yet didn't feel their last show was as good as
their first show years ago. I still liked it and definitely doesn't
mean I now dislike them. I could write a strong paragraph of what I
think was missing without completely writing off the band.

Anyway, I probably could have responded to more stuff, but wanted to
get back on a couple things, especially the 'affront' accusation.
