the age of the kids, there's always Scarowinds, if you like that sort of
thing (that sort of thing being a Halloween-themed amusement park).

National Whitewater Center is now open: Artificial whitewater for the

None of this is particularly "ironic Gen-X indie-rocker"/"giant ball of
foil" material, but Charlotte's weird busted faux-normalcy is so
overpowering that it's best to just go with/marvel at it.
