Yeah, thanks for the Heritage link from me too. I'm from Gastonia and even my friends that are still there didn't know that nothing was being done with it. My contractor friend heard that there have been several offers to buy that were deemed too low. I guess leaving it like this is better than a lowball offer? It looks from the pictures like pretty soon the whole place will have to be razed.

All I can say is WOW. Many thanks, great input from all of you. Must
say the PTL Heritageland thing is the most on-the-mark for me. Will
have to mull over how to pitch it to my kids. (Could, for instance, be
a great place to play hide-and-seek.)
I knew one off-topic post on here would get me more than a thousand
googlies. And, of course, thanks to Jeff for the Superchunk and SCOTS
references, which immediately rendered it ON-topic.
